Seychelles (officially called the Republic of Seychelles) is a 115-island country in the Indian Ocean located east of mainland East Africa. With a population of just under 100,000, it has the smallest population of any independent African state, yet boasts some of the most gorgeous beaches the world over.

Don’t Miss: Sea turtle spotting on the North Island of Seychelles, which is a nesting site for two different species of sea turtle, the hawksbill and the green turtle. Both species have been legally protected since 1994.
